Shirley was so kind and patient and knowledgeable in helping me select the instrument i was looking for. She did not push any products on me, but gave lots of advice and ideas on how to best care for my instrument, and had every resource available to choose from. Products were high quality, but i didnt have to break the bank because the prices were more reasonable than other stores! I highly recommend popping in there for any instrument care questions you may have, or product details you may be interested in learning more about ♥️

This review has been a long time coming, and I write it with the utmost sincerity.
Shirley and Chad with Island Bazaar Ukuleles are two of the kindest individuals who also both love ukuleles. They are highly knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. Shirley, the owner, went well out of her way to help me get my very first Hawaiian ukulele, a KoAloha. This ukulele makes me so happy. The tone and vibrations emanating are similar to hearing Brother Iz playing Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Keep in mind I have a long journey ahead, but this instrument motivates me to want to do and play better.
At home, I play morning and night, yet my girlfriend often takes the KoAloha ukulele from me, so she can play it herself. Because of this, I reached out to Shirley, and she helped get me a Kanilea. The Kanilea is beautiful, and it plays even better. But more importantly, my girlfriend and I can now practice and play together.
Mahalo Island Bazaar Ukulele’s for helping pave the road less traveled. I will continue to travel from Maui to Long Beach, California for all of my ukulele needs.
Mahalo nui loa and a hui hou.

During a tough season of my life me and my dad found this little shop down in Huntington Beach called "Island Bazzar", we saw that they sell hawaiin made Ukuleles and decided to go down to check it out. This simple decision would then go on the change the course of my life as not only did I try out some top quality Ukuleles but also got involved in a community that would welcome me with open arms.
The community this place offers is far from mean or scary, infact they are the exact opposite, everyone there is so friendly and loving, they truly make you feel like you're a part of the store. To top it all off the events they host are perfect for beginner players and as a beginner player I learned so much from the people there.
In terms of instruments and what they sell, I'd describe this place as the Toys 'R' Us for Ukuleles, seriously! The walls are just lined with instruments, mainly nstruments from top brands like kala and Ohanah. Of course I can't forget the grand jewel of the store. The hawaiin made Ukuleles, all the top "K" brands are there, Kanile'a, koaloha, kamaka, pepe Romero, and some special appearances like Compass rose or PCH Ukuleles. Of course after working hard for it I got the money to spend on a Mango Koaloha Tenor which I absolutely love! The instrument came with a hard shell case upon purchase and the store's owner (Shirley Orlando) even gave me some good tips as to taking care of the instrument to insure that it lasts as long as it can.
Lastly, customer service, the workers there (Chad & Shirley) really have a way around these instruments and really know their stuff, not to mention how Chad always seems to make every ukulele sound really pretty, not only that but the workers are very helpful and are always willing to answer your questions when needed or even help you out.
Overall this shop is THE ukulele shop of SoCal, if you're interested in playing the ukulele don't buy and get lessons from guitar center, instead just visit Island Bazzar in Huntington Beach, not only will you get your money's worth but you'll be sure to learn a great deal there by attending their groups and taking a class. Not to mention the amazing community who are ready to welcome you with open arms!

Island Bazaar is a great store. My wife and I started playing ukulele a year ago, and decided it was time to upgrade from the starter kit on Amazon. We met Shirley at a ukulele jam session that she led, with great songs and tips on playing. We went to the store yesterday and met Chad. He was great. After discussing what we wanted, he showed us several instruments that met what we wanted. He spent a lot of time with us talking about what we liked and what other options would be. Chad is very knowledgeable and friendly. He was also very patient in explaining all my detailed ukulele questions. My wife and I left with 2 instruments that we absolutely love and a lot of excitement to play more ukulele! I’d like to throw in a few more compliments, but I need to go play some ukulele.

Chad was incredibly helpful. There is a group of ukulele players that helped me find one that I really loved. There was only one of this type of ukulele left KALA brand… I called and Chad was nice enough to put it on hold for a few hours. He helped me not only over the phone but in the store as well. He made excellent suggestions and answered all the questions I had and even helped me With tuning my ukulele and applying the strap for me as well. I have only made a handful of reviews in the past but I highly recommend this place and I hope they stay forever and ever and ever and ever.

If there were 10 stars possible I’d rate Island Bazaar with those!
From Uke Jam on Thursdays to EZ12 twice monthly, it couldn’t be more joyful. A true community is built around playing ukulele and life long friendships are made. Shirley Orlando is the leader of the pack and creates an atmosphere of fun, fun and more fun. The store is chock full of ukuleles and accessories necessary to begin your lifelong relationship with music. Friendly service and welcoming people! Come on down and give Island Bazaar a try, you won’t regret it.

Class size makes it difficult to learn and advance at your own pace. Would recommend private lessons. Amazing selection and knowledge!

Outstanding and honest transaction of a Ukulele. Well packed, fast shipping and delivery of a fragile item. A very knowledgeable staff that was very helpful with questions and the sale. Will do business again and will definitely recommend to others. Thank you Island Bazaar Ukuleles for the sale of a beautiful and a well made musical instrument.

Excellent service! I went in looking for a Hawaiian made concert uke and they had several for me to choose from, and the guy answered all my questions, while I went back and forth (and back and forth and back again) before choosing.
And the after-hours strumming groups meet ups is just a step above their already great service!

Really cool store with great deals and a huge selection of ukes! All the ukuleles there are relatively tuned so you can compare them much better as a beginner, compared to big box stores.

Bought several uses over the years from Island Bazaar, they are so helpful. They also help with restringing, adding straps and all the other uke related items you might want. Ive never trusted buying online, so it is great I can go in and play them myself and they will also play them for you with other inventory so you can compare. Something for everyone's budget! Have a tone of music nights you can participate in .

I'm going to be honest, I initially felt a bit worried of how my first impressions would be coming to the store to pick out a Ukulele, but as soon as I stepped foot inside, my nerves eased and could happily say I walked out with a beautiful ukulele. Was met by a couple friendly faces coming in for the morning class, but was ultimately helped by Chad. I came in set on deciding on a Mango Ukulele, and Chad was happy to help me out! He even recommended some great sounding ukuleles that I was allowed to test play and even showed me some new arrivals. It took a lot for me not to deviate from my decision, but I was still happy with my choice. I ended up going for a nice KoAloha Tenor Royal Pikake Mango Ukulele, I liked the one I chose, but right before purchase he showed me another Mango that wasn't on display and fell in love with it immediately. I also ended up grabbing a Kala Zircote Concert for my Dad. Overall, I am glad my first experience here was good! I definitely want to come back and grab another uke soon! Maybe a Koa model! :)

Great staff, selection was second to none! Really helpful and quick service. Was buying a uke and flying out a few days later and I wanted a pickup installed. They sent it to the luthier and had it installed and was back in a couple of days. Would highly recommend!! Next time I'm in LA I'll be back.

This place was recommended by a friend, as I was looking for a ukulele for a gift. The staff is awesome, & they have everything you could possibly need pertaining to ukuleles, including a huge assortment of instruments. It's surprisingly spacious inside, & they offer classes, performances, & more. Best of all, the prices were great. Such a difference from guitar center, where I walked out because no one would even make eye contact when I went in.

Chad is great, he's so knowledgeable, and he was helpful, gracious, and understanding about what I wanted in a new ukulele. I love my new uke and I have Chad to thank for getting us "together."
(And of course, who couldn't love Island Bazaar!)

Great little store. I bought a $90 ukulele and they gave me a discount of $10. Very nice gesture. It'll bring me back for sure. Service was really great.
Selection is fantastic, which includes banjoleles and ultra premium Hawaiian made ukuleles. I think they have U-Basses too.
You should definitely try this place before going to Guitar Center or Sam Ash.
