Island Bazaar is excited to welcome the Rev N Ray Tour, featuring ukulele great Lil’ Rev and special guest Ray Cygrymus, for a full day of learning and live music. Whether you’re here to sharpen your playing or just to sit back and enjoy, this event is the perfect way to celebrate the uke.

🎸 Afternoon Workshops

3:00–4:30 PM – Blues Uke 102 w/ Lil’ Rev

Step up your blues uke chops with master instructor Lil’ Rev. In this 90-minute class you’ll explore:

• Adding two boogie notes to each chord

• Walking boogie patterns for both soloing and accompaniment

• 12- and 8-bar blues forms

• Shuffle patterns & locking into the 2 & 4 beats

• 4 strum-along blues tunes

• Blues scale & bump studies

Rev will also show you how to dress up three classics: Mother Earth, Good Morning Blues, and Leadbelly’s Bourgeois Blues (Boogie). This workshop is packed with practical skills and pure fun.

4:30–6:00 PM – Getting Spicy with Embellishments w/ Ray Cygrymus

Ukulele playing feeling a little plain? Ray will show you how to add some heat. This workshop focuses on:

• Chord suspensions

• Double stops

• Palm muting

• Creative strum patterns

You’ll leave with new tricks to make your music more dynamic and expressive.

🎶 Evening Concert

7:00–9:00 PM – Lil’ Rev in Concert with Special Guest Ray Cygrymus

Close out the day with a two-hour showcase of ukulele brilliance. Lil’ Rev takes the stage with tenor, baritone, soprano, and resonator ukes, performing everything from blues and roots rock to bluegrass, folk, Broadway, Irish tunes, and originals.

Ray Cygrymus joins in throughout the evening, both as a featured soloist and as Rev’s collaborator. Together they’ll deliver a fun, wide-ranging concert that shows off the versatility of the ukulele in roots and rock styles.
